Title: Modeling Soil Water Movement under Sprinkler Irrigation Condition
Abstract: Soil water evaporates and infiltrates in the same sprinkler rotating cycle when impact sprinkler is used.An experiment was conducted to model soil water movement under a single sprinkler at the experimental hall in Farmland Irrigation Research Institute. Two upper boundary conditions were used in the model, which is average sprinkler rate(A condition) and instantaneous sprinkler rate companied with soil evaporation(B condition). Results show that soil water content estimated using B condition was more close to the measured values in comparison with A condition. The depth of wet soil area estimated under both conditions was same.Soil water budget indicates that the difference in soil water amount between the measured and estimated using both conditions is small and decreases with sprinkler time increasing.
