Title: ORDOVICIAN CONODONT BIOSTRATIGRAPHY OF THE ORDOVICIAN LIANGCUN SECTION IN GUIZHOU PROVINCE,SOUTH CHINA
Abstract: The Liangcun section in Xishui County,Guizhou Province spans more or less the entire Ordovician System.The Ordovician strata at this section outcrop well and are dominated by carbonate rocks,thus ideal for conodont research.We collected 83 samples from this section for conodont analysis and recovered a total of 4050 specimens representing 90 species and 40 genera.Sixteen conodont biozones are recognized.In ascending order,these biozones are:Monocostodus sevierensis zone,Cordylodus angulatus zone,Glyptoconus quadraplicatus zone,Tripodus proteus zone,Triangulatus bifidus zone,Serratognathus diversus zone,Oepikodus communis zone,Oepikodus evae zone,Baltoniodus triangularis zone,Baltoniodus navis zone,Baltoniodus aff.navis zone,Lenodus antivariabilis-L.variabilis zone,and Hamarodus brevirameus zone,and Protopanderodus insculptus zone.
