Title: Nursing care of oral mucosa reaction caused by radiotherapy in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the effect of integrated nursing interventions in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) before and after radiotherapy in order to release radiation-induced oral mucosa reaction. Methods: 238 cases of NPC patients received radiotherapy first time were divided randomly into two groups: nursing group(119 cases)and control group(119 cases).Patients in nursing group were given integrated nursing during radiotherapy.Patients in control group rinsed with 3% liquor of bispyribac-sodium residues. Both groups received routine radiotherapy. Before radiotherapy,at the 3 week and 7 week during radiotherapy, after radiotherapy, oral mucosa reactions were observed. Results:There was no significant difference between the two groups before radiotherapy(P0.05),but there was significant difference between them during radiotherapy and after radiotherapy(P0.05).Conclusion:Integrated nursing for NPC patients with radiotherapy can release their mucosa reaction.
