Title: Lexical Cohesion and Two-way Translation between English and Chinese
Abstract: Lexical cohesion is one of the main cohesive devices in both Chinese and English. There are differences in lexical cohesion between the two languages.Instead of copying the lexical cohesion of the source text, translators should trace the lexical relations in the source text so as to get a good understanding of its collective meaning, which will serve to determine the items to be used in the target text. Translators should also make sure that the target text display a sufficient level of lexical cohesion in its own right.
