Title: EXPRESSION OF THE E-CADHERIN IN ESOPHAGEAL SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA PATIENTS
Abstract: Objective:To study the expression of E CD in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients and discuss the relationship between the expression of E CD and metastasis of invasion of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods:Immunohistochemical technique LSAB was used to detect the expression of E CD in 58 cases who suffer from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and adopt surgical treatment. The relationship between the expression of E CD and invasion or metastasis of the disease was analysed subsequently. Results:No relationship were found among age, gender, morbid position and the expression of E CD protein ( P 0.05).The correlation was observed between the expression of E CD and the degree of cellular differentiation (P 0.05). The expression of E CD protein was closely related with invasive extent of the carcinoma and metastasis of lymphaden( P 0.01).Conclusion:Decreased expression of E CD protein is related with the potential ability of invasion and metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and can be regarded as a biological marker of invasion and metastasis of the disease.
