Title: Prospects of water quality numerical simulation for plain river network
Abstract: The basic theories on numerical simulation of water quantity and water quality for river network regions and their development and application to the fields of water resources harnessing, navigation, and water environment planning are summarized, and the advantages and disadvantages of the numerical simulation methods for water flow and diffusive substances currently used are analyzed from the angles of theory and application. Then, some suggestions for improvement of current simulation methods are made, i.e. to develop an area-source pollution model for river network regions according to the land characteristics, and to study a refined water quality model according to the transport features of diffusive substances through the intersection of river channels.
