Abstract: The East-spreading of Christianism is one of the most important sources of Modern Chinese Literature.To meet the primary need of the promotion of the Christian religion,the missionaries had to translate Bible into Chinese,publish newspapers and magazines and write novels and brochures in Modern China in the early 19th.Thus,the translating of Bible and the writing of missionary novels are regarded as the origin of the Modern Chinese Literature Movement.A series of practices greatly influenced the birth of Modern Chinese Literature.
