Abstract:Corrosion behavior of carbon steel in urban sewage was studied by weight-loss and electrochemistry methods,then corrosion product was examined with SEM and EDX.The results showed that during long time...Corrosion behavior of carbon steel in urban sewage was studied by weight-loss and electrochemistry methods,then corrosion product was examined with SEM and EDX.The results showed that during long time immersion in urban sewage,the corrosion rate of carbon steel was stable by ca.0.8 mm/a and the flow of water increased the corrosion rate rapidly.A compact corrosion product formed on the base metal so that to keep the corrosion rate steadily by suppressing the permeation of corrosion medium,as well as the mass transportation through the scale. Orthogonal experiment showed that NH_4~+-N had much significant influence on the corrosion rate than other pollution factors in ordinary sewages.Read More
