Title: Geochemical characteristics and oil sources of conden sates in Panyu Low Uplift,Pearl River Mouth basin
Abstract: Condensates in Panyu Low Uplift,Pearl River Mouth basin, can be divided into Type A and B,with Type A into Sub-type A1 and A2,according to their biomarker combinations.Type A condensate is characterized by abundant bicadinanes and C_(19) tricyclic terpanes, high Pr/Ph ratios, relatively abundant oleanane and less C_(30)4-methylsteranes,indicating that the organic matter could derive from terrigenous higher plants and correlate with source rocks of swamp, river and shore-shallow lacustrine facies in Enping Formation.Sub-type A_1 condensate should derive from coal measure source rocks of swamp and river facies in Enping Formation because of its relatively lower abundance of C_(27) Diasteranes and higher abundance of C_(29) normal steranes, and Sub-type A2 should derive from mudstone of shore-shallow lacustrine facies in Enping Formation because of its relatively higher abundance of C_(27) Diasteranes and lower abundance of C_(29) normal steranes.Type B condensate contains some C_(30)4-methylsteranes,abundant C_(27) Diasteranes and less bicadinanes, oleanane and C_(19) tricyclic terpanes, showing no significant markers of higher plants, but has high Pr/Ph ratio. Therefore,it can be considered that Type B condensate may come from mudstone of shallow lacustrine facies in Wenchang Formation. In contrast to the old conclusion that most oil in Pearl River Mouth basin has derive from mudstone of medium-deep lacustrine facies in Wenchang Formation, this paper's results are very important to exploring for condensates sourced from swamp, river and shore-shallow lacustrine facies in Enping Formation and shallow lacustrine facies in Wenchang Formation in the basin.
