Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of tiopronin(MPG) on the prevention and treatment of leukocytopenia induced by radiotherapy in mice.Methods 60 Co-γ ray was adopted to make the model of peripheral blo...Objective To observe the effects of tiopronin(MPG) on the prevention and treatment of leukocytopenia induced by radiotherapy in mice.Methods 60 Co-γ ray was adopted to make the model of peripheral blood cell reducing in mice,and MPG prevented and treated the leukopenia caused by radiotherapy was observed.Results After mice were administered 250 mg·kg -1 and 500 mg·kg -1 of MPG once daily for 5 days by intragastic(ig),or 150 mg·kg -1 and 300 mg·kg -1 of MPG once daily for 5 days by intraperitoneal(ip),and 60 Co-γ irradation at 480 Rad/3 min once,then counted the total white blood cell count(WBC) at the 3th day and 5th day.Compared with the model control group,the defference was very notable( P 0.01).If 60 Co-γ irradation at 480 Rad/3 min at first ,and the different doses of MPG was given by ig or ip,then counted WBC at the 3th day and 5th day.Compared with the model control group,the difference between the experiment and the model control groups were significant( P 0.05, P 0.01).Conclusion The results suggested that the MPG had obvious action of prevention and treatment on leukopenia induced by radiotherapy in mice.Read More
