Title: Chinese Traditional Calligraphy Should Be Incorporated in Art Education in Higher Teachers Colleges
Abstract: Chinese people using Chinese characters have formed an excellent tradition of handwriting, the art of calligraphy, which is the calligraphic expression and shows the beauty of people's spirit. The use of computers and hard writing tools has made the use of traditional brushes less popular. Besides, calligraphy teaching is not paid much attention to in school education, leads to a nationwide low level of handwriting. The Chinese calligraphy art is declining and its existence is in peril. Therefore, it is an urgent task to strengthen calligraphic education in higher art education. The merging of the Chinese traditional calligraphy into the art education of higher teachers colleges is good for students to cultivate fine human nature, lessen the dominance of computers over people's creative ability, improve the handwriting level of art teachers of primary and middle schools, and above all, develop the art of traditional Chinese calligraphy.
