Abstract:Finite element model of some truck frame was presented based on Hyperworks software,corresponding with experimental results.Topology optimization for the first and fifth beam was then proposed.Finally...Finite element model of some truck frame was presented based on Hyperworks software,corresponding with experimental results.Topology optimization for the first and fifth beam was then proposed.Finally,size optimization for the main beam was conducted,in order to obtain more optimal frame.The results showed,the predicted results were well close to experimental results.According to topology optimization results,multi circle holes of the first and fifth beam were adjusted to a single elliptical hole with 0.53% reduction of the weight.And the thickness of the main beam was reduced to 3mm with 8.74% reduction of the weight in the size optimization.Compared with the original frame,the rigidity of the final optimized truck frame changed slightly,while the maximum von-mises stress increased by 0.15%,which meet design requirement.The location of maximum stress was transferred from the third beam to the main beam.Read More
