Abstract: In the context of the literary efflorescence of the mid-Ming period,Wang Zudi, who was born into a military household that suffered misfortune, took the path to the civil service examinations.Because of his own values and frequent entering and withdrawing from service due to his mother's illness, after entering Hanlin Academy and other offices,he lacked continuity in office and a mentality of advancement, which limited his political activities but helped to complete his literary attainments. In pursuit of a perfect morality,he did not care about gains and losses and dared to speak his mind about great state policies. He made recommendations regarding local education and put forth resources and efforts in disaster relief, thus developing his noble character and charming personality.
