Title: Application of airborne radioactive spectrum measurement data on the ore-prospecting of sandstone-type uranium deposits
Abstract: Taking the ore-prospecting of sandstone-type uranium deposits in the Frome Lake region of Australia as an example, using the differences of geochemical features of U,Th,K elements obtained by airborne radioactive spectrum measurement, the ancient uranium contents, activated uranium, contents, geochemical activity indexes and other airborne radiometric survey parameters, are established and calculated.Basing on the comprehensive study on the structure of the basin, distribution and other geological features of studied area,of paleochannels, lithologic the sources of uranium, uranium immigration areas, redox geochemical barriers and other metallogenic prediction factors are identified, finally basing on synthesizing the factors on ARCGIS 10,the prospective areas of sandstone-type uranium deposits in studied area are delineated. The present study indicates that the airborne radioactive spectrum measurement may be an effective method in the prediction of favourable area of sandstone-type uranium deposits.
