Abstract: is an important category of Confucianism. Etymologically, it originated in Western Zhou Dynasty. Conceptually, Honesty which expresses human's devoutly psychological attitude to god originated from religious sacrifice activities. With the enhancement of human's subject consciousness and the manifestation of morality, Honesty changed gradually into human's sincere belief to morality. As a category, Honesty was firstly advocated in The Doctrine of the Mean, and was deepened by Mencius and Xun-zi.
