Title: The analysis of sperm morphology in 7 230 infertille males
Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between sperm morphology and male infertility through sperm morphology analysis in infertile males. Methods The sperm morphology of 7 230 infertile males were analyzed with the modified Papanicolaou staining method formulated by World Health Organization( WHO). The situation of sperm deformity were analyzed through calculating the rate of normal sperm morphology in infertility males. Results Among 7 230 infertility males,the rate of normal sperm morphology was over 4% in 5 278 cases( 73. 00%),and the rate of normal sperm morphology was less than 4% in 1 952 cases( 27. 00%). Among them,1332 cases( 68. 24%) were sperm head deformity. Conclusion The analysis of sperm morphology is helpful to guide the determination of assisted reproduction programs so that more attention should be paid to the sperm morphological examination.
