Title: INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY STUDY ON MISCIBILITY BETWEEN SULFONATED POLYSTYRENE AND POLYCARBONATE
Abstract: The introduction of sulfonate groups into polystyrene has made polycarbonate and polystyrene partially miscible. The Tg's shift, revealed by DSC study, showed the partially miscibility between the two polymers. Infrared spectra confirmed that this miscibility was a contribution of the ion dipole interaction between polar groups in polycarbonate and the zinc sulfonate groups in sulfonated polystyrene.
