Abstract: A history of reception is the study of how an idea, a body of knowledge, a person, or an organization was received by the public. This paper focuses on the reception of the Society for Research in Chinese architecture outside China. The purpose is to connect the history of the Society with international activities, and to examine how the Society’s research influenced foreign scholarship and vice versa.
