Title: The Subversion of Positive Value and the Demolishment in Depth of the Discourse:A Study of the "Narrator" and the Structure in Wang Shuo's Novels
Abstract: The narration of Wang Shuo's novels, which are written in new Beijing vernacular about Beijing people and their ways and customs, breaks thoroughly away from those former ones both in the structure and aesthetic standards, thus differs a lot from that of novels of old Beijing vernacular. This is extremely evident if we notice the establishment of the narrator. Because of many a first person narrator I which is anti current, his novels thoroughly subvert and deny the traditional positive value. Meanwhile the author manages to pour out his own innermost feelings, thus his narration reflects his strong intention of satire and sarcasm. All these characteristics in Wang Shuo's narration demolish the depth of his novels.
