Title: Clinical significance of detecting serum thyrotropin receptor antibody levels in patients with Graves disease
Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical significance of thyrotropin receptor antibody(TRAb) in patients with Graves disease. Methods Serum TRAb and thyroid hormones were detected by radio receptor assay(RRA) in the following subjects:group A,64 cases of recently diagnosed Graves diease;group B,57 cases of alleviated patients after anti-thyroid treatment;group C,32 cases of non-alleviated ones;group D,35 cases of relapsing Graves disease after previous successful treatment;group E,48 cases of non-relapsing ones.30 cases of normal pepole. Results The TRAb levels of group A(35.02±5.46) U/L and group D(26.11±3.72) U/L were both significantly higher than that in group F(1.51±0.28)U/L(P0.01).The levels of TRAb in group B(7.85±1.29) U/L was lower than that in group C(19.28±4.25) U/L,but signicantly higher than that in group F(P0.01).The Graves patients with infiltrative exophthalmos had higher TRAb level(29.73±6.19) U/L than that of patients with non-infiltration exophthalmos(12.69±3.42) U/L(P0.01).Conclusion The detection of serum TRAb level is of great clinical significance in the course of Graves diease.
