Title: Hainan Residents' Perception and Attitude towards the Policy Impact of International Tourism Island
Abstract: Community residents' perception and attitude towards tourism impact in tourism destinations has always been a hotspot topic in the study of tourism geography science.However,research on residents' perception and attitude towards the impact of important tourism policy has been ignored by scholars both at home and abroad.The implementation of international tourism island policy will generate important and far-reaching influences on the stakeholders including local residents.Based on 1314 valid questionnaire survey,the study finds out: 1.local residents hold positive attitude towards the policy of international tourism island,but have low cognition on the practical policy contents;2.local residents are optimistic about the impact of the policy,but have low perception on the risks of this policy;3.although local residents have a passion for some lottery and entertainment activities at the present stage,most of the residents hold negative and opposing attitude towards the trail items such as casino tourism,which is significantly influenced by such factors as gender,registered residence,age,length of residence,monthly income and occupations;4.social exchange theory can be used to explain local residents' perception and attitude towards the impact of important tourism policy.The stronger perception on the positive influence the local residents hold,the more support of this policy they tend to have.With the negative impact of this policy coming to the fore,local residents' attitude towards this policy is likely to be further differenciated.
