Title: An Empirical Study of College Students' Vocational Exploration from the Competency Perspective
Abstract: Vocational exploration is the premise of vocational planning and decision making for college students and has important impact on their work satisfaction, efficacy and sense of vocational success after graduation. Based on an explorative study, the study proposes that vocational competency is an important part of college students' vocational exploration. With reference to the competency theory, a questionnaire of college students' vocational exploration is designed and a survey with it finds that college students' vocational competency awareness has positive and significant effect on their engagement and satisfaction with their professional study and vocational competency acquisition, and their study engagement has partial mediating effect on the relation between the vocational competency awareness and the professional study satisfaction, vocational competency acquisition.Therefore, it is recommended that college students' vocational competency exploration should be further researched and college students should be given more guidance in combination with their professional study.
