Title: NON-LINEAR AVO INVERSION CONSTRAINED BY A PRIORI GEOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Abstract: An approach of non-linear AVO inversion constrained by a priori geological information is presented in this paper. The elastic parameters including P-wave velocity,S-wave velocity and density of every time sampling point in the reservoir window on prestack seismic gatherare esti mated by the prior-constrained maximum-likelihood inversion based on layered model and dynamic ray tracing, and the parameters of poisson's ratio are also derived. The differentials of reflection and transmission cofficients respect to model parameters are calculated analytically, and the inversion procedure is controlled by adaptive factors, which make the iterative computation speed and stable.Since the inversion is constrained by a priori geological information, the resolution of parameter estimates and the robustness to noise interference are improved, and the inversion results according with the geologlcal regularities can be obtaine. The approach is tested on a synthetic model and a group of 3D seismic bin gathers. The results show that the approach can be used to perform the reservoir-oriented inversion on prestack seismic data for estimating elastic parameters.
