Title: Design and Implementation of Full RAM Linux System Based on Ramdisk
Abstract: System supports a virtual mechanism named Ramdisk in Redhat Linux version 6.0, which allocates a portion of main memory to use as a partition. This mechanism also makes that the operation of accessing harddisk to move into main memory. In this paper, design and implementation of full RAM Linux system based on Ramdisk technology is introduced, a measurement and assessment to whole new RAM Linux system is done in detail, some possible applications are listed too. New system got the performance by using large main memory, improved the capacity of Web server in aspects of data transferring and response time.
