Title: Impact of deep venous thrombosis on the traffic vein evaluated by color Doppler flow imaging
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the impact of lower limb deep vein thrombosis on the traffic vein with color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI).Methods The case group included 107 patients with deep veinthrombosis(113 diseased limbs),and 44 patients with primary deep vein valve dysfunction were included in the control group(50 diseased limbs). The lower limb venous ultrasound examination were performed to all the patients in order to measure the diameter and number of the traffic vein. The site, range, echo of the thrombosis and the blood flow through the vein were observed in the case group, which were then staged and classified according to the course and thrombosis site.Impact of lower limb deep venous thrombosis on the traffic vein in different clinical types and stages were compared. Results In the 113 lower limb veins with thrombosis, mixed venous thromboembolism accounted to 55.8%(63/113).Diameters and number of the traffic veins in patients with mixed venous thromboembolism were higher, and the differences were significant F=3.818,Ht=17.8586,P0.05)compared with the central and peripheral types.Compared with the control group, patients in the case group had widened and more opened traffic veins. The changes of diameter and number of traffic veins happened earlier than the control group, and difference between the two groups was significant(t=3.188,3.643,5.812,all P0.01).Conclusions Impact of deep vein thrombosis on the traffic vein is early and severe.CDFI can effectively evaluate the impact of the deep venous thrombosis on the traffic veins.
