Title: Urbanization Development and Megalopolis Reconstruction In the Yangtze Delta Region
Abstract: The paper analyzes the characteristics of urbanization development in the Yangtze Delta region through its urbanization process, the differences among cities, floating population and urban system. The paper chooses nine factors by using the Principle Component Analysis to study the dynamic mechanism of urbanization in the Yangtze Delta. The nine factors are finally extracted to two principle components, and one is the principle component on location and economic level and the other is the principle component on centralization degree of the central cities. Each city' s urbanization development is inverse to its distance to Shanghai, and direct to its economy development. The centralization degree of population and economy of the central cities is also relevant to its urbanization level. Finally, basing on status quo of regional economy and traffic Infrastructure, paper proposes the pattern of Tri-layers and Tri-metropolitan regions about the spatial organization of the Yangtze Delta megalopolis and makes some considerations on the adjustments of the megalopolis' s spatial arrangement.
