Title: Analysis on Raven's intelligence test and related factors of rural children aged from 9 to 12
Abstract: Objective In order to evaluate the intelligence quotient(IQ)and analyze related factors of rural children aged from 9to 12in the national health research project.Methods The epidemic questionnaires were used to collect the target information;combined Raven's test Chinese version 2was employed to evaluate the intelligence quotient of participants,and the Chinese Raven test norms for rural children(version 1997)was used to transform the primary Raven test scores to standard intelligence quotient scores.Results The average primary score of Raven test was 49.84.The primary scores increased with age,however,with no significant difference(P=0.18).After transforming primary scores into standard IQ scores,the average IQ was 108.84.The IQ score decreased with age.Especially,the 9year-old group showed significant higher IQ scores than other groups in this study(P0.01).Parents'education,cesarean delivery and living with mother were positive factors of IQ.Conclusion The Chinese Raven norms for 9~12years old children needs further modification.
