Abstract:The changes in phase structure and hydrogen storage properties of Ti9.6Cr11V75.4Fe4 alloy after modification by ball-milling for different time(t=0,1,2,4,8 h) are systematically investigated.The XRD a...The changes in phase structure and hydrogen storage properties of Ti9.6Cr11V75.4Fe4 alloy after modification by ball-milling for different time(t=0,1,2,4,8 h) are systematically investigated.The XRD and SEM analyses show that all of the as-cast and ball-milled alloys consist of a single V-based solid solution phase with BCC structure.The cell volume and the particle size decrease gradually and the powder appears aggregation with the increasing ball-milling time.It is found that the ball-milling enables to improve the activation behavior of Ti9.6Cr11V75.4Fe4 alloy effectively.With the increasing ball-milling time,the effective hydrogen storage capacity at room temperature increases first and then decreases.Ti9.6Cr11V75.4Fe4 alloy ball-milled for 2 h is endowed with fine overall properties,whose maximum hydrogen absorption capacity and effective hydrogen storage capacity at room temperature approach to 3.7% and 2.23%,respectively.Read More
