Title: MRI findings in central nervous system of neurofibromatosis-II
Abstract: Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of MR imaging in central nervous system involvement of neurofibromatosis Ⅱ. Methods 7 patients with surgically and pathologically proved neurofibromatosis Ⅱ were included. Their MR imaging findings and clinical features were retrospectively analyzed. Results The main findings of 7 cases of neurofibraomaosis Ⅱon MR imaging included bilateral acoustic neurilemoma, multiple neurofibroma, meningioma and schwannoma. Among the 7 patients, T1-weighted imaging after contrast enhancement displayed additional lesions which had been ignored on un-enhanced scan. Conclusion MR imaging has advantages in the detection of central nervous system involvement of neurofibromatosis Ⅱ with regard to its ability to show the lesions well, meanwhile displaying the size, morphology and signal features clearly.
