Methods Qualitative and quantitative analysis were carried out on clenbuterol, ractopamine, salbutamol, cimaterol and terbutaline in pig urine, hair and liver by GC-MS to find out the usage situation of β-agonists in the products of animal origin. Results Clenbuterol, salbutamol and ractopamine were detected in 215 samples, the positive rate was16. 7%,and the other 2 kinds of β-agonists were not detected. The positive rates of β-agonists in urine, liver and hair were16. 3%,17. 4% and 16. 7%,respectively. Mixed use of clenbuterol, ractopamine and salbutamol in dosage and period were also found in animal-derived products. Conclusion Repeated illegal use of β-agonists in animal-derived products need the well-established veterinary drug residue inspect system to monitor the β-agonists use in livestock to ensure food safety.
