Title: Transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate for the treatment BPH 236 cases
Abstract: Objective To assess the safety and efficacy of transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate(PKRP) in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH). Methods The clinical data of 263 cases of BPH patients that our department treated with transurethral plasmakinetic vaporization of prostate and electricity cut method from August 2008 to March 2013 were reviewed. Results Average time of surgery on patients was(50±25)min. There was no intraoperative bleeding and blood transfusion. Average time of postoperative catheter indwelling was 5d. Average time of continuous bladder irrigation was 1-3d. Average time of postoperative hospitalization was(6±1)d. There was no short-term surgical complication. IPSS, Qmax and QOL scores after 12 months were improved compared to preoperative scores. Conclusion Transurethral plasma kinetic resection of prostate for BPH has the advantages of short surgical time, less bleeding, less hospitalization time, less complications and higher safety. It is worth to be widely applied in clinical.
