Title: Evaluation of left cardiac function in mycoardial infarction using real time three-dimensional echocardiography
Abstract: Objective:To compare RT-3DE with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) in measurement of left ventricular(LV) function quantification in myocardial infarction. Methods:We evaluated a total of 33 patients with myocardial infarction who underwent RT-3DE,2D and MRI.Left ventricular ejection function,end-diastolic volume, endsystolic volume, stroke volume were manually assessed for each patient by two blinded readers.Intraobserver variability was calculated using paired-samples t-test and interobserver variability was calculated using analysis of variance of repeated measure. Results:There was no significant difference among the measurements for RT-3DE,2D and MRI of the ventricular function parameters.A strong correlation between RT-3DE and MRI(r=0.81~0.87) was found for all parameters.2D and MRI had a good correlation for EDV,SV(r=0.61,0.67),and a moderate or low correlation for ESV(r=0.41),and EF(r=0.36).Conclusion:RT-3DE will be used in evaluating myocardial infarction cardiac function by clinical routing gradually.
