Title: Research on Enhancement of Motor Cortical Excitability through High-Frequency Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Abstract: Objective:Determine the parameters of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation(rTMS) to provide the theoretical foundation for the improvement of the athlete's arousal level by using rTMS.Method:Using within-subjects design, give different amounts(1000,2000,3000 pulses) of rTMS(20Hz,90%RMT,5 s on and 55 s off) on the left primer motor cortical(M1) in the volunteers.Motor evoked potential amplitude of before, immediately after and 30,60 and 120 minutes were measured respectively.Results:20 Hz,90%RMT- rTMS of 1000 pulses(5 s on and 55 s off) didn't bring about motor evoked potential amplitude. Both 2 000 pulses and 3 000 pulses can increase motor evoked potential amplitude and produce after-effects.The motor evoked potential amplitude of 3 000 pluses increases greater and have longer after-effects. Conclusions:20 Hz,90%RMT of 3 000 pulses(5 s on and 55 s off) can better increase motor cortical excitability, and have long lasting after-effects of more than 60 min and less than 120 min. Therefore, they may be used as the rTMS parameters for the improvement of athlete's arousal level.
