Title: A Study on Cutting Techniques of Acacia pennata
Abstract: Taking the branches collected from wild Acacia pennata plants as materials, the cutting techniques were studied.Experiments were carried out to study the effect of different cutting soaking time, different cutting season, different media, different cutting conditions including different cutting length, diameter, age, different chemical treatment on rooting rate. The results indicated that the optimum treatment for cutting of Acacia pennata was in spring(February),choosing the perennial branches with the diameter from 1.0 cm to 2.0 cm,after removing leaves and cutting to be 15 cm to 20 cm long, soaking in flowing water for 12 h,dipping the base part of the branch in 100 mg/L No.1 ABT rooting powder for 12 h,using perlite as medium, keep the moisture content of 60 %.The high rooting rate of 79.2 % can be obtained.
