Title: Vitrectomy in patients of diabetic vitreous hemorrhage
Abstract: To evaluate the efficacy of vitrectomy in patients of vitreous hemorrhage because of proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).Methods Between 1998~2000,40 eyes of 40 patients with vitreou s hemorrhage because of diabetic retinopathy were treated with vitrectomy.The po stroperative complications and clinical effects were observed.The follow-up peri od was 3 months to 12 months.Results All of the cases were performed vitrectomy successfully .The best corrected visual acuity in 10 eyes were≥0 6,20 eyes were 0 1~0 6,5 eyes were CF~0 1.The other 5 eyes had poor visual acuity because of pos toperative complications(retinal detachment in 3 eyes,neovascular glaucoma in 2 eyes).Conclusion Vitrectomy is a safe,effective method to the patient s with vitreous hemorrhage for PDR.
