Abstract: Objective To compared the change of vaginal lactobacillus of patients with SVVC(serious vulvovaginal candidiasis)after treatment with Canesten vaginal tablets and Miconazole vaginal soft capsules. Methods 112 cases of SVVC who came to Peking University First Hospital were recruited from November 2008 to June 2009.Patients were randomized divided into Canesten group(55 cases)and Miconazole group(57 cases).Vaginal lactobacillus were cultured and counted before treatment,7~14 days after treatment and 24~30 days after treatment. Results The effective in Canesten group and Miconazole group was 94.55% and 89.47%,which had no significant difference(P0.05).7 ~ 14 days after treatment, vaginal lactobacillus number(calculate nature log)in the two groups were both increased and no significant difference was found(P0.05).24~30 days after treatment, compared with 7~14 days after treatment, vaginal lactobacillus counts increased in Canesten group while decreased in Miconazole group, but there was no significant difference(P0.05).Four cases complain of itchy and pain after the use of Miconazole(P0.05).Conclusions The treatment effect of Canesten and Miconazole are similar.Canesten can enhance the growth of vaginal lactobacillus.
