Title: A Review of the Studies on Submarine Mass Movement
Abstract: Submarine landslide is one of the most destructive submarine geological hazards.Once the submarine landslide happens, the slides may travel, with a high speed,a distance of several-tens kilometers, probably even more than hundreds kilometers. The submarine mass movement can pose a great threat to the safety operations of marine engineering facilities such as marine oil and gas platforms, submarine pipelines and seafloor cables. The main purpose of this paper is,based on the latest achievements of researches on the submarine landslide,to present briefly the research status and advances in survey methods, numerical simulations and physical experiments of the submarine mass movement, thus providing a reference for the further study of evaluation and prevention of submarine geological hazards in China.
