Abstract:Carbon and sulfur segregation and macrostructure defect of 82B billet produced under different continuous casting condition have been systematically analyzed by the combination of field trial and labo...Carbon and sulfur segregation and macrostructure defect of 82B billet produced under different continuous casting condition have been systematically analyzed by the combination of field trial and laboratory analysis.The results showed that superheat,casting speed and solidification end EMS,three factors that influence segregation of billet,worked differently as the variation of inner parts and segregation elements.Proper increasement of secondary cooling intensity could effectively decreased carbon and sulfur segregation of billet,especially for the central part of billet,thus it could significantly improve the serious carbon and sulfur segregation caused by high casting speed.However,there was inhomogeneous water cooling phenomena under high spraying water rate in the secondary cooling zone,and it caused intermediate cracks in billet.The central porosity and shrinkage defect could be obviously improved when EMS was used at the solidification end.Read More
