Title: Determination of the organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticide residues in vegetables
Abstract: Objective To determine the organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticide residues in vegetables by GC.Methods Pesticide residues were extracted from vegetables with petroleum ether.Extracts were clean-up by alumina neutral-florisil column.Analytical screening was determined by gas chromatography using capillary column equipped with electron-capture detector.Results The recovery obtained from vegetable samples(n=5) at three concentration levels were in the ranges of 87.5%~104.7%,with relative standard deviations of 2.2%~5.8%.Limits of detection were 5.0×10-8% to 7.0×10-7% for organochlorines and 5.0×10-7% to 8.0×10-7% for pyrethroids,respectively.Conclusion A satisfactory result was obtained in the determination of organochlorines and pyrethroids in vegetable.
