Abstract:In order to study discharge characteristics of polluted water droplets on the RTV and glass under different polarity electric field,the paper uses finite element method to compute the severe non-unifo...In order to study discharge characteristics of polluted water droplets on the RTV and glass under different polarity electric field,the paper uses finite element method to compute the severe non-uniform electric field distribution on the hydrophobic surface with different characteristics of water droplets.Discharge phenomena was captured by high-speed camera.Experimental study was held under inhomogeneous electric which presents different polarity.The results showed that polarity effect appeared in allogenic conditions.Wet pollution leads to new characteristic on flashover voltage.Droplets on hydrophobic surface produce partial discharge and distort under the electric field force,local arc develops from two ends to middle,and the flashover accomplished through the top of the droplets,electric arc burnt directly along hydrophilic surface through two electrodes.Read More
