Title: Research Progress in Grain Boundary Segregation of Solute Atoms inInconel 600 and Inconel 718 Superalloys
Abstract: Grain boundary segregation of solute atoms in superalloys is an important factor affecting the properties of superalloys. In the present paper, the progress in grain boundary segregation of solute atoms in superalloys is reviewed focused on Inconel 600 and Inconel 718, and the existing results and conclusions are analyzed. It is found that further research with respect to segregating characteristic, basic physical parameters and influence on the resistance to intergranular stress corrosion (IGSC) should be carried out in superalloy Inconel 600. It is also found that further investigations about the mechanism, segregating kinetics and cosegregation behaviors should be studied insuper alloy Inconel 718. Besides, the prospect of grain boundary segregation of solute atoms in superalloys is proposed, that is kinecits of segregating and cosegregating of solute atoms.
