Title: Isolation and Biological Properties of Newcastle Disease Virus from Pheasant
Abstract: One strain was isolated from pheasant which supposed to be infected with newcastle disease through SPF chicken eggs. The results indicated that the isolated was pheasant ND virus by hemagglutination test(HA),hemagglutination in hibition test(HI)and virus neutra lization test. The biological properties of the virus was determined by measuring the mean death time of chicken embryos(MDT),the intracerebal pathogenicity index(ICPI) and the intravenous pathogenicity index(IVPI).The MDT,ICPI and IVPI were 76.8,1.46 and 1.6 hours respectively.
