Title: Clinical Value of 64-slice Multidetector CT in Evaluation of Coronary Artery Disease and Left Ventricular Function
Abstract: Objective: To assess the clinical value of 64-slice multidetector CT in evaluation of coronary artery disease and left ventricular function.Method: 322 patients with varying degrees of coronary artery stenosis were simultaneously performed coronary artery computed tomography angiography(CTA) and two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography(2D-TTE) examinations.Coronary artery degree of stenosis, extent and plaque features were assessed by using retrospective ECG gating technique.Meanwhile, left ventricular function data obtained from the two methods were compared.Result: 96.0%(309/322 cases) were successfully evaluated by CTA.A total of 253 cases with coronary artery stenosis(40.51 ± 19.33%) and 649 atherosclerotic plaques were detected. The left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LV-EDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume(LV-ESV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),respectively obtained from 64-MDCT and 2D-TTE,There wasn't significant difference between the two methods. Conclusion: By a single CTA scan, the 64-MDCT,evaluating coronary artery disease and simultaneously measuring accurate indicators of left ventricular function, demonstrate a high clinical application value.
