Title: A novel algorithm for reactive power optimization in distribution grid based on ordinal optimization and tabu search
Abstract: Reactive power control in distribution system is an important and effective method to make the power loss less and voltage condition better.In order to make the convergence speed of tabu search(TS) algorithm faster,considering the much better global search ability of ordinal optimization(OO) algorithm may offer a good initial solution for TS,a hybrid algorithm of OO and TS(OOTS) for reactive power optimization in distribution system is presented and the design process of OO horse race(HR) rule based is discussed in detail.Using the presented hybrid algorithm,the reactive power optimization calculation for a 28-bus distribution system is conducted,the calculation result is compared with the results from the OO and TS algorithm,and it is shown that the presented method possesses better convergence and stronger global optimization ability.
