Abstract:The composite beam is composed by steel beam and concrete slab.Under vertical loads,the moment distribution along the beam can be divided into positive moment and negative moment.For the characteristi...The composite beam is composed by steel beam and concrete slab.Under vertical loads,the moment distribution along the beam can be divided into positive moment and negative moment.For the characteristic of composite beam,its sectional flexural stiffness under positive moment is different under negative moment.The sectional flexural stiffness mutates at the location where the moment is zero.According to the law of equivalent strain energy,the simplified expression for determining the equivalent stiffness of composite beam in steel frame was presented.The simplified method is feasible for analysis of the composite beam steel frame.The influences of lateral loads and semi-rigid connection on the equivalent stiffness of composite beam were analyzed.And the results show that the equivalent stiffness derived by the proposed method is a conservative result.Read More
