Title: Capacity Analysis on Left-Turn Lane at Two-Phase Intersection of Urban Road
Abstract: No signal control intersection theory is the basis for signalized intersections.Based on the theory of the gap acceptance at the intersection without traffic signal,the traffic flow characteristics about the left-turn lane at two-phase signal control intersection of urban road are analyzed and a left-turning crossing capacity model is established.Parameters of the proposed model is calibrated by the field data.Using the simulation software Vissim 3.6 to simulate the transportation environment of the actual intersection,the maxium number of vehicles on the left-turn lane which pass through the road intersection per hour is obtained.The relative error between the capacity obtained through the calculation model and the result got by Vissim 3.6 is less than 10%,which proves that the proposed computation model has good applicability.
