Title: Distribution of intramuscular nerve and muscle spindles density in hypothenar of human
Abstract: Objective To reveal the distribution regular pattern of intramuscular nerve branches and muscle spindle density of the hypothenar. Methods Modified Sihler staining,Hematoxylin and Eosin staining were used. Results The extramuscular nerve entered each muscle from its deep surface at the origination of the hypothenar muscles, and the mean extramuscular nerve trunk length ranged between 0.49-1.64 cm.There were independent innervation in ulnar and radial part of the abductor digiti minimi that could be divided into two nerve compartments. The intramuscular nerve trunk of flexor digiti minimi brevis passed obliquely through central region of muscle.Diverse nerve anastomoses pattern were observed in the opponens digiti minimi,especially,U-like was more obvious.Intensive branches of intramuscular nerves to be situated in radial of the three muscles.Muscle spindle density of the opponens digiti minimi was most highest [(19.33±2.72)/]g,flexor digiti minimi brevis was next, that was(15.79±1.33)/g,and the lowest was abductor digiti minimi [(12.86±1.69)/g].Conclusion Radial part of the three muscles participated in fine regulation more than ulnar; If the muscle was more small, the muscle spindle density was more high.
