Abstract:High-temperature homogenizing experiments were carried out on hot rolled H13 steel mandrel and effects of the heating temperature,holding time and cooling rate on the banded segregation and impact tou...High-temperature homogenizing experiments were carried out on hot rolled H13 steel mandrel and effects of the heating temperature,holding time and cooling rate on the banded segregation and impact toughness were investigated.The results show that homogenized at 1250 ℃ for 4 h then rapid cooled,the banded segregation in the rolled H13 steel mandrel decreases obviously,and the segregation tendency of secondary carbides and impurity along grain boundary reduces.Consequently,both the impact toughness and its isotropic performance are improved greatly.The production practice proves that the mechanical properties of H13 steel can reach the same level of imported 8407 steel by means of homogenization treatment at 1250 ℃ before forging and rapidly cooling after forging.Read More
