Title: Changes of high sensitivity C-reactive protein level after Breviscapine injection treatment in acute ischemic stroke patients and its mechanism
Abstract: Objective To analyze the changes of C-reactive protein level after Breviscapine injection treatment for acute ischemic stroke patients and its mechanism. Methods The serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) levels were measured at 2,7,14 d by using particle-enhanced immunoturbidimetric test in the patients of treatment group(n=40,with Breviscapine injection treatment) and in the patients of control group(n=40,without Breviscapine injection treatment) and in healthy control group(n=40).National institutes of health stroke scale(NIHSS),Barthel Index(BI)were evaluated before the treatment and 7,14,30 d after the treatment. Results Acute ischemic stroke patients had a significantly higher level of hs-CRP compared with healthy subjects(P0.05) and positive correlation was observed between the hs-CRP level and nerve functional insufficient statusThe serum hs-CRP of treatment group was obviously lower than that of control group(P0.05) on the 7 th,14 th day;7,14 and 30 days after treatment, the scores of NIHSS were lower in treatment group than in control group(P0.05 or P0.01),while the scores of BI were higher(P0.05 or P0.01);No adverse reactions were observed in the treatment group. Conclusion The serum hs-CRP level closely related to acute ischemic stroke and is the risk factor.Treatment with Breviscapine can decrease the level of hs-CRP,inhibit the vascular inflammatory reaction, relieve neurological dysfunction and improve the prognosis of acute ischemic stroke patients.Breviscapine injection treatment is effective and safe for acute ischemic stoke.
