Title: Metallogenic characteristics and prospecting direction of Beishan gold deposit in Yiwu,Xinjiang
Abstract: Beishan gold deposit is situated in eastern section of the Late Paleozoic Booker - Santanghu island arc of Siberian plate in Yiwu Xinjiang. Gold mineralizationoccured in the alternated medium- acidic pyroclastic rocks in the Second subgroup of Zhuomubasitao group in Lower Devonian and was dominated by medium- acidic submarine volcanic rocks and the annular- radial fault-fracture system in the overlying wall rock. There are 11 main gold mineralization belts and 12 gold orebodies. The shape of single orebody is veined or lenticular. A number of orebodies have the occurring characteristics of disappearing somewhere and appearing in others or lying parallel and oblique. Mineralization is related closely with stagespyritesericitization. Natural types of ore are mainly pyrite+sericite and polymetallic sulfide gold deposit, and industrial types are mainly high arsenic sulfide ores. . The ideal deposit mode of this depositis outlined as follows: shallow structural alterated Gold deposit →medium-deep structural altered rocks of polymetallic sulfide gold deposit →deep submarine volcanic(porphyritic) rocks of polymetallic sulfide gold deposit. The exploration prospect is broad in deep area, therefore, general research and exploration should be done further.
